About Us
We are Kelly and Rosana Hart. Kelly is a videographer, writer,
builder, and inventor, and I (Rosana) am a writer/webmaster. Our
Juniper Ridge llama information products are a division of Hartworks,
Inc., which publishes websites, DVDs, and books on whatever we get
interested in.
Information on llamas became a passion of ours when we got our
first llamas over 20 years ago. At that time, there was very little
information on llamas available, and as I was a librarian, I delved
into finding out all that I could. This led to the publication of
my first book, Living with Llamas, which is now in its fourth
edition. From there, we just kept going with llama info!
We don't own any llamas now, but we raised them for about
ten years on a ranch outside of Ashland, Oregon.(We're in Colorado
and Mexico now.) Our herd was small, usually a dozen or less, and
we loved getting to know each llama's unique personality. Juniper
Ridge Ranch was one of the first to offer llama day-hikes with
gourmet lunches. We bred llamas too. These activities led to our
Juniper Ridge Press line of llama books and videos (now DVDs),
and we continue providing information on llamas with this website.

we haven't owned them for some years now. Everything I know about
llamas is on this site! (Actually, I have forgotten a lot of what
is on this site.) Use the SEARCH button on the bottom of every
page, and if you can't find what you need here, you can also use
that SEARCH button to search the internet via google.
A good place to get current llama questions answered is at the
llamas online group easily available through google. Go to
www.google.com, click on groups, and type in the word llamas.

Schoolchildren who are doing reports on llamas sometimes email
a question like, "Please tell me everything about llamas."
Now that we have the full text online of both our llama books, a
lot of what you need is here on the site. Specially helpful are
the first pages of my book Living with Llamas. You can get
there from the Menu or from the Site Map.
Kids, don't bother emailing me. It's all on the site!
